Queer Berlin Tour
Discover the queer capital of Europe
Join Original Berlin Walks for a tour of Berlin’s renowned queer culture. Discover LGBTQIA+ history in the queer capital of Europe.
A queer king, a gay mayor, Marlene Dietrich in Blue Angel, David Bowie in the ‘70s, Audre Lorde in the ‘80s: Berlin has long been a magnet for LGBTIQ icons and allies. As the first company to offer a regular queer tour in Berlin we are thrilled to show you an integral side to our city.
From the wild days of the 1920s and the dark days of persecution under the Nazis through to the different experiences in East and West Berlin, we will look at LGBTQIA+ experiences throughout Germany’s history. Hear about the club scene of the 90s, the unlikely queer icon Frederick the Great, and the life of the openly gay Nazi, Ernst Röhm.
Explore Berlin’s world-famous gay neighbourhood, Schöneberg, once the central district of the so-called sapphic capital Berlin and home of philosopher and war journalist Erika Mann, a space and time chronicled by painter Otto Dix and writer Christopher Isherwood, and the home of one of Berlin’s oldest gay and trans* club, the former Eldorado.
Not only history, we’ll talk about the queer community of Berlin and all the communities it intersects with by bringing you to Kreuzberg, where, as far back as the 1600’s, many waves of LGBTQIA+ and immigrant diasporas have come to determine “nobody flees without a reason”.

On this tour we accept everyone
The Oueer Berlin Tour is one of our passion projects. We love catering for niche audiences, but that means we can't run this tour as often as we would like. In 2022 you'll find the Queer Berlin and Women of Berlin tours operating once per month in English and once per month in German.
We love what this tour stands for, which is why we continue to operate it at a loss. Hopefully, you can catch us while you're here!
The Queer Berlin Tour is bookable as a private tour all year round.
