As Berlin prepared to welcome 2022, the original article focused on what visitors could do under the COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time. Different restrictions applied according to vaccination status. Those instructions are now outdated and should not be used to plan a visit.
The Brandenburg Gate celebration in 2021/22
The celebration at the Brandenburg Gate was planned without a live audience, with viewers able to watch from home on ZDF. The old live-stream instructions have been removed because they referred to that specific event.
Clubs and private parties at the time
